Instructions For Creating Personalized Ardore Candles
Download the Ardore Candle Template. (CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD template.doc).
Open your download in Microsoft Word by double clicking on the download.
Near the top of your screen, there should be a Microsoft Word "Formatting Toolbar". If toolbar is not present you can activate it by going to the menu at the very top of your screen and following this string: "View/Toolbars/Formatting". View
Step One: Personalizing Text
Move your curser over the template's text, "PERSONALIZATION HERE". Use your mouse to highlight both words. When all of the words are highlighted, you may begin typing your preferred text in its place. View
To change the look of your text: Highlight the entire text that you want to change. In the Formatting Toolbar, you can change the font, the text size, and the color. You can make your text bold, italic, or underlined. Remember to highlight only the words you want to affect. You can also use the toolbar to adjust your text alignment, Left, Right or Center. View
Don't worry that the textbox is vertically oriented. Just start typing, and Microsoft Word will put the text in the textbox correctly.
Step Two: Adding a Photo
Do not have the background photo or the text active/selected. Go to the menu at the top of your screen and follow this string: "Insert/Picture/From File". View Select the picture you wish to insert from your computer. The photo must be uploaded to your computer and must be rotated to the right 90 degrees (lying on its side]. Don't worry when the picture automatically replaces the current backdrop. Proceed with the following steps.
Once the photo is on the page, double click on it to highlight it and to open a new pop-up menu. On the new photo menu, click on Layout, and then click on "In Front of Text" and then click "OK". The previous background image should re-appear. View
Click on your new picture with your mouse, and continue to hold down the mouse button. While the button is down, drag the picture to the appropriate location. View The white rectangle on the page indicates where the photo must go. If an image moves, click on the image. Once it's highlighted use your mouse to move it. To move text, click and drag on the gray box around the text.
Once the picture and text are in the proper location, you are ready to print the Ardore Candle Template. In the menu at the top of the screen follow this string: "File/Print".
Be sure to use the pre-printed photos available from Ardore Candles in your printer and set your printer to print in a "photo" or "fine" mode. In the menu at the top of your screen follow this string: "File/Print". We advise to always print first on a plain sheet of paper so that you note the template's orientation before printing on an actual pre-printed photo.
[Printing Note: Depending on the printer you are using, when you begin printing, a window may appear on your screen informing you that your margins are set outside the printable area on the page, and ask if you wish to continue. Click "NO". Then, go to the menu at the top of your screen and follow this string: "Format/Document/OK". You should get another window that asks you if you want to "fix" the margins. Click "Fix". This will set all margins correctly. Click "OK". Now follow your printer's printing procedures.
Adjusting the Size of an Image
Click on the image. Hold down your shift key. While you're holding shift, click on any of the corner dots of the photo and move the mouse. Make sure you are holding the shift key the entire time, as this will constrain the photo's proportions.
Note: If you make a mistake in any step, you can always go to the menu at the top of your screen and follow this string: "Edit/Undo". View
